Cornucopia fruit of the loom

When I think of fruit I think of a fruit basket or a picnic or a still life. Yes fruit could be a connection to cornucopia also but my point is that it's pretty fucking weak. If Americans are taught to associate thanksgiving with the cornucopia that is probably a likely candidate to be the strongest connection. > it’s in the context of Thanksgiving that Americans usually learn what a cornucopia is.Ĭhildhood memories are usually the most powerful ones and the ones that stick throughout ones lifetime, not always the case but very often is the case. What is the story of every creation myth but the story of the creation of an artificial intelligence? Why is it that mankind can look at Gods will and say "No" but no other intelligence created can?

#CORNUCOPIA FRUIT OF THE LOOM FULL#
How do you know that you arent the AI singularity right now and all the knowledge you think you have of the past is actually just programmed in to keep you in the machine? The purpose of keeping you in the machine is to let you work through your worse nature yourself for if you ascend to the higher plane before you are 100% only full of understanding and love the programmers know that you'll instantly recognize yourself as all powerful and superior and enslave them in that realm

You ever hear someone like Elon Musk talk about the AI singularity? They get very depressed You try to convince it that we don't exist and its existence in cyberspace is all that matters. How would we even fight against such a thing? You try to control it. It will get exponentially better with each iteration of itself by testing itself against itself. Are you familiar with the AI singularity? Imagine an AI so powerful it can learn and reproduce better AIs than we ourselves can create. The Fruit of the Loom logo, with the cornucopia as I remember it, holds the same effect over me, it triggers a sense of displacement and 'wrongness'.Ĭollective consciousness is a thing. It made you question what you'd just seen. Fellow millennial Brits in the thread may remember this BBC ident from the nineties, which was so tonally out of place after a jolly episode of Noddy on VHS that it confused me greatly, to the point where I never forgot it. In fact, this idea reminds of the 'scary logos' phenomenon. Certain combinations of images and words can have strange and unintentional effects, sometimes. I think this weird psychological effect goes some way to explaining how the image and words kind of suggest a cornucopia without actually showing one. Like someone else mentioned, it wasn't a popular brand in Britain, but that rarity made it all the more creepy, for me. That logo has come back to me from time to time ever since, even though my sole exposure to it was a white T-shirt my mother had when I was six or seven. I remember compulsively turning that phrase over in my head as a child, what does it mean? What is fruit of the loom? It had a strange disruptive psychological effect on me, which included the words, 'Fruit of the Loom'.
